COPS were investigating last night after a woman was found dying at a £1 million home in one of Britain’s poshest towns.
Paramedics and police sped to the five-bed house after screams were heard inside.
Medics battled in vain for nearly an hour to save the stricken woman, who was in her thirties.
But cops didn’t launch a murder probe for three days as they awaited the results of a post-mortem.
The luxury pad in Gerrards Cross, Bucks is owned by car lease firm boss Harcharanjit Matharu, 58, and his 66-year-old wife Baldev.
The couple are believed to have two daughters.
A man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder and was last night still in custody.
Police would not say how the woman died, but did not rule out looking for anyone else.
Patrols in the upmarket neighbourhood were stepped up yesterday as forensic experts continued to search the house.
One neighbour said: “I didn’t know the people who lived there, but I heard a scream at around 5pm on Monday.
