SNEERING senior Labour figure Emily Thornberry was booed on Question Time after she made the bizarre claim Brexiteers had voted to steal their neighbour’s job.

The Shadow Foreign Secretary, who was infamously sacked by Ed Miliband for mocking a white van man, was jeered by the audience after making the outlandish comments.

In attempting to attack the Government for its Brexit strategy, she said: “Put it this way, how many people here vote to take their next door neighbour’s job away?”

Before she could finish she was shouted down by angry members of the public, with a fellow panel member heckling her and calling her comments “ludicrous”.

Ms Thornberry further upset those watching having responded to Leave supporters in the audience by suggesting they didn’t know what they were voting for.

Despite her boss the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn saying the historic referendum vote was binding, she said a second public consultation on the terms of the deal to leave the EU was needed.

An audience member hit back, saying: “This is almost like Project Fear all over again by saying we didn’t understand what we were voting for.

“I understand. Stop belittling us.”

After prolonged booing the Islington South MP continued, saying: “Because the truth is that the government ought to, first of all as it primary responsibility the safety of its people, and a secondary responsibility to make sure that we have a decent economy so that people keep their jobs.

“People who have only just got their heads above water, if this economy goes south then people who are just making ends meet will be the ones who will suffer most.

“It won’t be Liam Fox’s family who suffer, it will be ordinary families who will be suffering and the Tories are talking risks with our economy.”

She was ridiculed again when an audience member was asked by the host :“Did you vote to take your job away?”

They replied: “No, I voted to take Emily Thornberry’s job away!”

After rapturous applause she went on to say: “People who voted to leave the EU are not stupid, we did some informed research and based my vote on that.

“I voted to leave the single market."

Ms Thornberry has been in hot water before for her dismissive views of ordinary voters.

Mr Miliband sacked the 56-year-old from his Shadow cabinet after she tweeted a picture while campaigning in a by=election of Dan Ware’s house adorned in a St George’s flag with the title “image from Rochester”.

She was criticised for her “disrespectful” message, which was labelled as mocking ‘white van man’ and “snobby”.

And last month she had a meltdown on Sky News and accuse presenter Dermot Murnaghan of “sexism” after she failed to name the French foreign minister.
