Five people rushed to hospital after being mauled by out of control Rottweiler in park
FIVE people have been hospitalised after an out-of-control Rottweiler mauled them in a park.
The vicious dog was off its lead in Luton Park in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, when it pounced.
The victims were said to have been attempting to bring the animal under control when it attacked.
Five people were rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment on Tuesday.
The Rottweiler was seized by cops and is currently being held in secure kennels.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At 2.40pm on Tuesday, August 30, police were called to reports of a dangerous dog at Luton Park, Ellesmere Port.

"Officers attended the scene and found a Rottweiler, which was off the lead and out of control.
"During the incident five people were bitten as they attempted to control the dog.
"They all sustained minor injuries and attended the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment to their injuries.
"The dog was subsequently seized by officers and is currently in a secure kennels."
It comes after a 34-year-old man died after being mauled by a dog in a park in Hampshire.

He was pronounced dead at the scene on August 10 after the horror attack at a recreation ground on Hillson Drive in Fareham.
Cops say a dog was secured and taken away, while a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerous out of control animal.
