Shocking footage shows Samsung pouring out smoke after it BLEW UP in woman’s hands
A SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 7 blew up in a woman's hand and started pouring out smoke - just as she was taking a screenshot to confirm her new mobile was working OK.
Shocking footage shows terrified Dee Decasa walking around with the smoking smartphone before throwing it in a metal pan.
She was checking Samsung's website on the phone to confirm it was working when it started smoking on Sunday morning.
Ms Decasa, from Honolulu in Hawaii, had received the model as a replacement after her original Samsung was recalled amid explosion fears.
She said: "(I was holding the phone) Then boom, there was like a pop.
"I had it in my hand and then smoke started spewing out, this green yucky thing. "
The bookkeeper called for her husband who can be seen in the video running over to help her.
They then walk across the kitchen and put the exploded phone in an aluminium pot where its plastic case melted to the side.
The potentially-lethal Samsung was still smoking when police arrived 20 minutes later,
At the end of the clip Ms Decasa appears shocked and collapses onto a soft surface before slumping to the ground.
Fortunately the couple were not injured in their terrifying ordeal.
Ms Decasa said she thought at the time: "What happened? We were reassure these were the replacements".
Her husband has said the plastic protective case his wife had around the phone may have prevented her from being injured.
The couple have said Samsung will be sending a representative to Honolulu to examine the phone.
A couple of days ago has now stopped making the model entirely and has told people with one to switch it off straight away.
The US safety commission is investigating five Note 7 incidents reported since September 15.
He also said after Samsung issued its recall the vendor refused to give him any cash back.
