Labour MP Simon Danczuk in expenses row again after charging the taxpayer for flight from his holiday home

CONTROVERSIAL MP Simon Danczuk was in expenses hot water again last night after charging the taxpayer for a flight from his Spanish holiday home.

But he was rumbled by snaps taken by his selfie loving ex Karen of the pair enjoying the sunshine.

The pics posted to Twitter prompted complaints from the public.

The suspended Labour MP had been on holiday in Spain but had to return to Westminster to be “sworn in” following last year’s election.

Yesterday it emerged that the member for Rochdale had repaid the £186.68 he charged to the taxpayer for a flight from Alicante to London Gatwick in May 2015.

Mr Danczuk coughed up before being forced to by the Compliance Officer of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority — the body that oversees MPs expenses.

Last night Mr Danczuk told The Sun he had had been advised by Commons officials that he was allowed to claim for the flight and IPSA had originally agreed to refund him the cash.

But the parliamentary watchdog said the MPs expenses scheme “does not provide for such circumstances and the claim was therefore not allowable.”

Earlier this year Mr Danczuk was forced to pay back over £11,500 he claimed in rent for two of his children who did not “routinely” live in his London flat.

And it’s not the first time Mr Danczuk’s Spanish holiday home has found him expenses trouble.

In August 2015 he tweeted the view from his “Spanish gaff”, proving he was on holiday.

However he later claimed back the cost of the £17.50 a day Manchester airport car parking charges and was forced to pay back £96.50.

In August Mr Danczuk spent two nights in a Spanish jail over a bust-up with ex-wife Karen, who refused to press charges against him despite being left blooded and bruised.

He remains suspended by the Labour Party following lurid sexting allegations and despite the police dropping an investigation into an alleged historic rape.
