He must serve a minimum of ten years in prison but will remain on licence for life.

Ali targeted the woman, in her late 40s, on the morning of Saturday March 5.

He asked her for a cigarette - and pounced when she replied she didn't smoke.

He dragged her into a secluded spot in Perivale Park and brutally raped her multiple times.

Ali then stole money from the victim and fled the scene.

The victim, despite being injured and very distressed, managed to raise the alarm at a nearby shop.

CCTV captured Ali entering and leaving the park, but he had obscured his face with clothing.

A DNA match to Ali was later identified and, on 7 March, he was arrested at his home address.

He was charged as above the following day.

Met Detective Inspector Neil John said: "I must firstly express my thanks and admiration for the victim.

"Despite all that she has endured she has had the courage to give evidence that has seen her attacker brought to justice.

"Be in no doubt, this was a truly horrific crime.

";Ali was brutal and vicious, and carried out a sustained attack on a woman who was innocently making her way to work.

"I am both pleased and relieved that he has been convicted and that he will now be made to face the consequences of his own cruelty and depravity."

He was convicted of ten offences, namely: kidnapping, two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, attempted rape, actual bodily harm, theft and two offences of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

When Ali was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court yesterday, he was also placed on the sex offenders register for life.
