How do I unlock my phone and take a screenshot on iOS 10? Our top tips for Apple’s new operating system
Here's to get your head around some of the changes
APPLE users have been divided by the latest iOS 10 update, with many struggling to get to grips with the new phone changes.
From taking screenshots to unlocking devices quickly, these handy tips will help avoid getting angry at the new operating system…
Disable ‘Press Home to Unlock’ feature
Apple customers have vented their frustrations at wanting to get into their phones as quickly as possible, with many claiming that pushing an extra button is becoming infuriating.
Thankfully, phone users can enable a setting that unlocks the phone in a simple touch.
To activate the feature follow three simple steps:
- In your Settings app, select General and then Accessibility
- Click to edit the Home Button settings
- Make sure the Rest Finger to Open option is selected
Take screenshots easily
There’s been some bad news for Snapchat addicts, as it can be slightly more tricky to take a screenshot easily on iOS 10.
For the best results, users have to push down on the power and lock buttons in a particular way.
The knack is to hold the power button a little bit quicker before you hit the home button.
If your screenshot has worked, the screen will flash briefly.
Fix phone charge problems
Since the launch of the new operating system, many iPhone users have complained that the battery life of their devices has become a lot worse.
Social media has been flooded with complaints about their charge being drained and phones heating up too quickly.
Thankfully, a recent iOS 10 fix seems to have provided some solutions to this problem.
To try and improve battery life, put your phone through the iOS 10.1 update.
If this doesn’t work, Apple experts advise selecting the ‘Restore’ option in iTunes may offer another solution.
Delete annoying apps
On the former iPhone operating system, users were unable to delete apps they never used, such as the Stocks feature.
Thankfully, the new update allows you to remove these pesky programs that take up phone storage.
Simply hold down the touchscreen over the app you want to delete, tap the cross in the top right corner and click remove.
