Schoolgirl, 14, arrested after man in his 20s was seriously injured in alleged assault

A GIRL aged just 14 years old has been arrested in connection with a serious assault on a man.

Cops have launched an investigation into accusations of grievous bodily harm after a man in his 20s was rushed to hospital by air ambulance last night.

The altercation allegedly took place in Whitstable, Kent at around 10.30pm.

The man is suffering from serious injuries, say police.

He is being treated at a London hospital, where he is believed to be in a stable condition.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers were called shortly before 10:30pm to a report that a man had been assaulted at an address in Edgar Close.

"A 14 year-old girl has been arrested and is currently in police custody and enquiries are ongoing."
