Gumtree and eBay BAN sale of fire-prone Samsung Note 7 smartphones
Websites will no longer allow the sale of Samsung's hottest gadget after a number of the devices EXPLODED
EBAY has banned users from selling the Samsung Note 7 after a number of the devices EXPLODED.
The news comes just after Samsung announced the end of production, following reports that the battery on its Note 7 is prone to bursting into flames.
Many Note 7 owners have been listing their replacements phone on eBay after Samsung offered to replace the faulty handsets.
While the RRP of the phone itself is only £630, many of the new handsets have been fetching up to £780 on eBay.
: "I can confirm we are proactively removing all listings for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7."
"Should people see a Galaxy Note 7 advertised on our site, we would recommend that they do not go ahead with the purchase and report the advert to us using the onsite 'report ad' button."
On top of Gumtree and eBay banning the sale of the handset, Royal Mail have banned the shipment of the gadget.
According to customers who own a Note 7 will be due a full refund for the faulty product.
Alex Neill, managing director of home and legal services at consumer watchdog Which?, said: "You have between 14 and 30 days to return the phone depending on where you bought it from and if it's a faulty product you should get a full refund."
