Body pulled from the Thames after man disappears under water near sailing club during heatwave
THE body of a man has been pulled from the River Thames following a desperate search.
Horrified witnesses said the man vanished underwater near Desborough Sailing Club in Shepperton, Surrey at around 8pm yesterday.
A huge search was launched by the fire service, ambulance crews, a dive team and Surrey Search & Rescue
Tragically his body was recovered in the early hours of this morning.
Surrey Police are treating his death as unexplained but do not believe anyone else was involved.
It is not known why the man entered the water.

A spokesperson said: "Sadly, a man's body was recovered from the river in the early hours of this morning.
"His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.
"A file will be prepared and passed to the coroner."
Officials are urging Brits to stay safe in open water as temperatures rise across the country.
The Met Office warned of an "increased risk" of water safety and fire-related incidents during the heatwave.
The fire service has also told people not to jump into unknown bodies of water as it can be colder and faster flowing than it appears.
