Legoland rollercoaster crash leaves at least 31 injured as two trains smash into each other in theme park horror
MORE than 30 people have been injured after a rollercoaster crashed at an amusement park.
Two trains smashed into each other after one braked suddenly at the Legoland park at Guenzburg, Germany
Police initially said 34 people have been injured, suffering cuts and bruises, but that was revised down to 31.
Among those two people were severely injured and were rushed to hospital by helicopter - one with leg injuries and the other with shoulder pain.
The injured are injured are ten children, one teenager and 20 adults,
The incident took place on the Fire Dragon ride at the leisure resort.

Fire Dragon ride is suitable for children aged six and older who are accompanied by adults, according to Legoland's website.
Kids aged eight-years-old and over can ride unaccompanied.
The rollercoaster train is designed to look like a fire-breathing dragon, and passes through a dark indoor area before emerging outside to a large, twisting track at speeds of up to 18mph.
The "Feuerdrache" rollercoaster speeds around the park at around 20mph.
A police spokesman said the accident happened in the area where people get on and off the rollercoaster.
One train braked in an incorrect area and another then drove into the back of it, the spokesman explained.
Fortunately the train did not derail and no people fell off.
The Bavarian Red Cross, which was involved in the emergency response, said 15 people were transferred to hospital following the crash.
Riders still trapped on the rollercoaster had to be evacuated after the incident with the help of two fire engines.
The theme park is owned by the same chain as operates Legoland in Windsor
Last week, a woman died in another roller coaster accident in an amusement park in Klotten in southwest Germany.

The 57-year-old woman fell out of the roller coaster as it was moving and died of her injuries.
The Koblenz public prosecutor’s office said on Monday afternoon that the woman from St Wendel “slipped from her seat before she fell off from a height of about eight meters”.
Authorities said she had died at the scene.
The cause for the accident has not been identified yet.
