Moment ‘stalker’ who slashed open car roof and filled it with DEAD FISH and MILK is caught in the act
Mum-of-two Julie Lewis, 57, is living in fear after she is targeted in the dead of night in sleepy Cheshire town
A MUM-OF-TWO is living in fear after a mystery stalker slashed open the roof of her car and filled it with MILK and DEAD FISH.
Julie Lewis, 57, caught on CCTV the moment the hooded man struck in the dead of night in a sleepy Cheshire town.
Nails were also left behind the tyres as the seats were covered with foul-smelling fish after the roof of her soft-top BMW 1 Series was cut open with a weapon.
It’s the second time her vehicle has been targeted and comes after Julie, who works in foster care, received a string of abusive texts.
Julie Lewis, 57, who lives alone in Alsager, Cheshire, believes she knows who the perpetrator is, but claims police are unable to do anything unless the man is caught in the act.
She installed security cameras after the first incident on September 2 but was targeted again last Monday.
Julie, who works in foster care, said: "It feels like I'm being stalked or harassed. It's very uncomfortable.
"It started off with abusive texts in August. One day I got up to take the dog out for a walk and I was greeted by a pile of dead fish on the doorstep.
"I had the roof of my car slashed and milk was poured inside. This was in September when it was very warm and it stank the car out.
"There were nails behind the tyres and keys had been used to scratch the paint. I reported it to police but they said they couldn't do anything.
"I got the CCTV put in after that because I was scared."
Julie believes the man is a former acquaintance who is bitter after a disagreement involving her dog, five-year-old Siberian husky Potter.
On October 3, her newly-installed CCTV captured a hooded man in gloves slashing the roof of her car again.
Julie, who has two adult children, said: "The camera is linked to my phone and it goes off if it senses motion outside.
"It did ping a couple of times during the night but normally it's down to cats or whatever. But in the morning it had downloaded pictures of him slashing the roof again.
"He poured dead fish on the car this time. It looked like he was wearing a forensic coat or a boiler suit.
"It's pretty troubling living like this. He's obviously quite meticulous in his preparation. There's never any DNA left.
"My biggest concern is that this isn't just about me. Other people in the community could be at risk.
"It's made me feel very uneasy, especially at night. When it's dark, it's different really. Not that I think he's brave enough to try anything else but you just don't know.
"I've spoken to the police about it. Whether it's stalking, harassment, criminal damage, or whatever. But they need hard evidence that it is who I think it is."
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "We can confirm that we are investigating an incident of criminal damage at an address in Alsager.
"The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 4.10am and 4.20am on Monday October 3.
"During the incident the roof of a BMW parked at the address was damaged.
"Officers are following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101."
