"'There has never been an accident like this in Marmaris. Everyone is in shock and upset."
He said that Peter had been left in a coma by the crash, but said he has now regained consciousness.
However, he has been "traumatised".
Anna and Peter reportedly got together recently and were enjoying a seven-day TUI holiday at the five-star Lalila Blue Hotel.
Tragedy then struck at 1.30pm on Thursday lunchtime when the speedboat they were riding in was hit by a fast-moving sea taxi.
Shocking pictures on local news sites showed the yellow and white death boat with a section of its hull torn open by the force of the impact.
Four other people in the sea taxi – the 22-year-old captain and three tourists – suffered less serious injuries and were taken to the resort city’s Ahu hospital.
Anna's ex husband Jonathan Capuano said: "Anna's a nice, friendly person, and was going off to Turkey with her new partner."
Her friends and neighbours explained she had been excited for her break in Marmari, a popular holiday hotspot for Brits.
"She had split up with her husband about a year ago and had recently met a new partner. It was their first time away together," said Baljeet Randhawa.
Another neighbour added: "She had just met a new partner and seemed happy, It is a terrible thing to happen, shocking."
Turkish authorities are investigating the crash, and the UK Foreign Office is supporting Anna's family and the other Brits injured in the crash.
