Home Office officials attempt to censor report on ministers’ failure to tackle extremism
Dame Louise Casey is fighting a bid to have her report watered down, as it covers Theresa May's failings as Home Secretary
THE Government’s integration tsar is fighting a bid to have her report on ministers’ failure to tackle extremism watered down.
Home Office officials are attempting to censor Dame Louise Casey’s review which highlights damning failures.
It blasts ministers’ efforts to to tackle extremism, the impact of mass migration and the integration of minority groups.
According to report her review has been ready for months but has been delayed due to “concerns” from civil servants about its content and language.
It’s thought the fact her review spans the time the Prime Minister was Home Secretary is another issue holding back publication.
A spokesman for the Home Office said: “Louise Casey was commissioned in 2015 to review what more we can do to create more cohesive communities in England. The report will be published in due course.”
Dame Casey was appointed by David Cameron last year to review social integration, segregation and how to prevent extremism and hate.
She was previously the tsar for troubled families dealing with anti-social behaviour.
