TRIBUTES have today been paid to a "loving" gran found dead in a seaside town as a man appeared in court charged with murder.
Margaret Barnes, 71, was discovered on Marine Parade in Gwynedd, North Wales, after a report was made about a "distressed woman".
Sadly the pensioner, from Birmingham, couldn't be saved and died shortly after the horror on July 11.
David Redfern, 45, of Barmouth, appeared before magistrates today in Llandudno charged with murder.
He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the short hearing.
Redfern was remanded in custody to next appear at Caernarfon Crown Court on Monday.

Margaret's heartbroken family have now paid tribute to gran.
They said in a statement: "Margaret was a devoted wife, and the best mother, grandmother and sister anyone could ask for.
"She always had a smile on her face and was always caring, loving and willing to help anyone especially her family who she cherished.
"She has been cruelly taken from us far too early. She will be sorely missed and we can honestly say that our lives without her will never be the same again."
