My garden fence has been flattened by cars EIGHT times in just 16 years – I’m at my wits’ end
A WEARY resident claims his garden fence has been flattened by cars eight times in 16 years.
Mike Nash is "at his wits' end" after the steady stream of out-of-control vehicles smashed through the structure since moving in 2006.
The latest incident, on Sunday, saw a grey Ford plough into the fence near Dunblane, central Scotland, after allegedly losing control in wet conditions.
It was the fourth battering in as many years, and the eighth in 16 - all of which involved motors bulldozing through the wooden barrier immediately after coming around a bend in the road a short distance away.
Thankfully nobody was injured, but Mike said Sunday's smash is the final straw and he is demanding action be taken on what he describes as the accident blind spot on the A820, Doune Road.
He told The : "I was at the other end of the house and I heard a thud.

"A few minutes later I received a phone call from one of the neighbours to say that a car had crashed through the fence.
"Despite extra signs and 'slow' painted on the road, it makes no difference.
"What is needed is rumble strips before the bend and a reduced speed limit, as the whole stretch is a constant danger to the four properties that line this road.
"Hopefully something will be done before there is a fatality."

Police Scotland confirmed the July 24 crash.
A spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on the A820 Doune Road, near Dunblane, shortly after 9.45pm on July 24.

"There were no reported injuries and recovery was arranged for the vehicle."
Following Mike's concerns, Stirling Council agreed to carry out a safety assessment and insisted "appropriate action will be taken if required".
