Tributes have poured in from friends and family of the little girl, who had one sibling.

One person said: “There are no words for such a loss. No family should ever have to experience such pain.

“Just so sorry and heart broken for all you all. What a beautiful little angel, may your sweet little girl rest in peace.”

Another said: “The love and joy that Hannah brought could never be measured and will never be forgotten.

“I hope your treasured memories give you some comfort during this difficult and heartbreaking time.”

A third said: “Just too heartbreaking for words. Fly high little angel.”

As a mark of respect GAA activity in the Timahoe and St Joseph’s clubs were cancelled over the weekend.

A spokesperson for St Joseph’s GAA Club said: “All of St Joseph’s wish to send our deepest sympathies to Marie, Denis, Ella and all of the Kealy and Cahill families following the extremely tragic death of Hannah.

“Our hearts are broken for you all and you are in all of our thoughts at this incredibly difficult time.

“May Hannah rest easily and be welcomed into heaven by Liam and all the angels. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.”

Tributes were paid to the family at Monday’s meeting of Laois County Council by local councillors Paschal McEvoy and Padraig Fleming.

Hannah’s mum Marie and dad Denis asked for privacy ahead of the release of funeral details.
