Tragedy as lad, 25, dies in car crash the day after qualifying to be a personal trainer

A PERSONAL trainer died after he crashed his car into a tree the day after qualifying, an inquest heard.
Arran Coen, 25, suffered "severe head injuries" after the vehicle left a motorway.
And a coroner found that the heavy dumbbell weight that fitness instructor Arran stored in his Ford Focus may have struck him on the head, contributing to his death.
Former model Arran had only qualified as a personal trainer the day before he lost control on the M4 in Swansea, South Wales.
An inquest heard he collided with the motorway's central reservation before leaving the road and striking a tree at 7.30 am.
Consultant pathologist Dr Maurizio Brotto told in the inquest at Swansea Coroner's Court that Arran died as a result of a brain injury.
He said: "The dumbbell found in the car may have contributed to his injury."
Dr Brotto said tests showed Arran was over the drink-drive limit at the time of the early morning crash in November 22nd last year.
He had 102 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. The legal drink-drive limit is 80.
Assistant coroner Paul Bennett said: "The accident was not witnessed.
"The vehicle, a blue Ford Focus was extensively damaged and the driver was strapped in the driver's seat by his seatbelt.
"It was obvious however he had suffered severe head injuries.
"It seems the vehicle had veered across the carriageway into the central reservation, continuing off-road and becoming airborne and colliding with a number of small trees, before coming to stop at a speed and with a larger tree.
"There was a heavy dumbbell in the vehicle with may have been contributory towards the head injury."
Mr Bennett recorded a verdict of death as a result of a road traffic collision.
Speaking after his death, Arran's mum Angela Coen said: "He was very outgoing. He had just qualified to be a personal trainer the day be before he died.
"He was such a lovable character – everybody from the length and breadth of the country – everyone loved him."
