McDonald’s customer stunned after ordering a ‘plain burger’ and receive a bun with sauce and no patty
Gareth Lennon, 26, ordered the burger when he visited the store after returning from his holiday in Mexico with girlfriend
A HUNGRY man hoping for a McDonald's burger fix after a holiday was disappointed after he received a too plain hamburger, with no meat inside.
Gareth Lennon unwrapped the fast food to find he simply had a bun covered in ketchup, with a single gherkin slice as a garnish.
The 26-year-old was driving home from a holiday in Mexico with his girlfriend Jessica when they stopped at the store in Coryton, near Cardiff.
The pair ordered the burger along with two McChicken sandwich meals, and Gareth said he visits the branch about once a week.
The business development manager said of the error: "I wasn’t surprised to be honest, I’ve ordered from the store before and they’ve managed to mess up previous orders. I went there as it was convenient on my way home as it’s just off the M4."
The couple were unable to complain or have their ordered changed, as they were home by the time they tucked in and discovered the burgerless burger.
Gareth said: "I will probably go to McDonald's again, but I won't be choosing that specific store."
A McDonald’s spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for Mr Lennon’s experience.
“Every step is taken to avoid errors in our food and when customers are asking for certain ingredients to be removed, we ask their preferences are communicated very clearly at the point of order.
“We would encourage Mr Lennon to contact our customer services team, who will be able to look into this for him.”
