Teenager in a critical condition after falling from balcony during row with other men on his 19th birthday

Three men in court on suspicion of grievous and actual bodily harm after teen is found on ground with serious head injury

A 19-YEAR-OLD is currently in a critical condition after he was thrown from a first floor balcony during his own birthday party.

Adnan Mustafa, 21, Akil Iqbal, 18, and Waleea Rasool, 18, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous and actual bodily harm after the birthday boy was found lying on the ground.

The victim, who has not yet been named, sustained a serious head injury in the fall, Hatfield Remand Court heard on Thursday.

The teen’s neighbours say he was celebrating his 19th birthday at the time of the incident.

Day 1 Newsagents owner, Sahid Ali, said: "I heard an argument happening between a few men but that is normal in St Albans Road as we have a few pubs along here.

"The police then came but sometimes they come down the road anyway.

"For some reason I did not think to look out of my window.

"Police have said the boy is in a critical condition.

"It is horrible because of his age."

Harry Patel, owner of Kays Newsagents, told the : “I opened my business at 5.30am and on Tuesday morning the police had closed the road.

“They did not let us out of our shop because they were doing forensics on the road.

“After 30 minutes police opened the road and allowed us to start our business.”

Officials were called to Jenny's Café in St Albans Road, Watford, at 1.54am on Tuesday morning.

The street was closed off to allow investigations to take place at the scene.

The unnamed victim was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital by paramedics, where he remains in a serious condition.
