'AT least ten' people have been injured after a bomb exploded near Istanbul airport.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after the explosion rocked the area close to the transport hub.
Istanbul's governor said a motorcycle bomb was behind the blast.
He added at least five people had been injured in the explosion on Fatih Street.
The explosion rocked the Yenibosna district, on the European side of Istanbul.
Witnesses told Turkish television they hard a loud explosion followed bu gunshots.
Cars near the scene appeared to be badly damaged by the blast.
Dozens of emergency vehicles were pictures at the scene within minutes, shortly followed by heavily-armed special forces.
Turkey remains on high alert after a string of terror attacks and a military coup rocked the country earlier this year.
A number of car bombs have rocked the country, including one near Government headquarters in September.
Some have been carried out by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), while others have been claimed by ISIS.
The PKK has been fighting to establish an independent Kurdish state.
