Inside Ivana Trump’s health battles from fight against obesity to feeling ‘afraid’ of Donald’s hospitalization

IVANA Trump addressed several health issues before her death, from fighting the obesity epidemic to feeling “afraid” over ex-husband Donald Trump’s hospitalization.

Back in 2018, Ivana partnered with diet guru Gianluca Mech, known as the “Richard Simmons of Italy” to work on combatting America’s obesity problem.

Mech launched the “Italiano Diet,” which featured a range of pasta, pizzas, and cookies that were specially formulated to be low-carb and high in fiber.

He and Ivana went on a tour of American cities where a majority of the population was overweight to speak at hospitals and community centers about healthy eating.

“The obesity rate in the United States has reached epidemic proportions and together with my dear friend Gianluca Mech, we will be introducing the ‘Italiano Diet’ to Americans from coast to coast,” Ivana said in a statement at the time.

“We have to fight this now because it is getting worse, particularly among young people who need to be taught how to eat and exercise correctly so that they can have a long and healthy life.”

IVANA TRUMP

While very passionate about the fight, Ivana told the at the time that she never struggled with her own weight.

“I was always very disciplined - I didn’t gain weight my whole life,” she said.

But everyone has their guilty pleasures and Ivana was no different, appearing in ads for Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken in the past.

Ivana even said she would “dream” of eating KFC.

“I have it once a year, and I’ll have it and won’t eat anything for two days,” she said.

Even her ex-husband, former President Trump, couldn’t escape Ivana’s lectures about his fast-food-loving habits.

“I can tell him 100 times, but he does what he wants anyway,” she said, adding that she saw Trump’s weight creep up on him over the years.

However, Ivana said her ex was still in good shape.

“He looks very, very good and is very healthy - his only weakness is the Big Mac, what can I tell you?” she said.

‘HE WAS CARELESS’

However, Ivana did have stern words for Trump in 2020 after he and current wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, tested positive for Covid-19.

“He was careless,” she told .

“He didn’t think it would happen to him.”

Ivana said the news came as “a little bit of a shock” that Trump had contracted the virus because he’s “the cleanest, healthiest person.”

“Not healthiest with food, but very healthy otherwise—always washes his hands and always is careful,” she added, again stating that his “only weakness is food.”

Despite the couple’s tumultuous marriage, which ended in divorce back in 1992 after Trump’s public affair with model Marla Maples, Ivana was still worried about her ex’s health.

“I am afraid,” she said of him being hospitalized for Covid.

“I’m going to be afraid until he gets well and he gets out of it.”

TRUMP TRAGEDY

The New York Fire Department told The US Sun on Thursday that they responded to Ivana's Manhattan apartment on the Upper East Side at 12.39pm after getting a 911 call about a person in cardiac arrest.

Ivana was declared dead on arrival, the NYPD told The US Sun, with police adding that they are not considering her death suspicious and it appears she died of natural causes.

The Trump family released a statement confirming her death: "It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump.

"Our mother was an incredible woman -- a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor.
