Couple tried to snatch girl, 3, while she played in garden before cops raced to the scene
A MAN and woman have been arrested after a couple tried to snatch a three-year-old girl from her garden.
Cops rushed to the scene in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, at about 8pm last night following reports a pair had attempted to kidnap the tot.
It's alleged the youngster was playing in the front garden of her home in Crowland Avenue when she was approached by a couple who tried to touch her arm and take her away.
Officers searched the area for suspects and continue to patrol the area.
A 38 year-old man and 29 year-old woman have now been arrested after voluntarily going to a police station.
Humberside Police say the pair remain in custody and continue to be questioned.

A spokesman said: "Two people are currently in custody in connection to an incident last night on Crowland Avenue in Grimsby.
"At around 8pm we received a call reporting that a three-year-old girl who was in the front garden of her home, was approached by a couple who are alleged to have touched her arm and tried to take her away from the property.
"Officers were immediately deployed to the address and into the area in an attempt to locate and identify any possible suspects.
"Various enquiries were carried out overnight and the investigation continues today. Our neighbourhood policing team continue to patrol the area engaging with residents.
