‘Heavily drunk’ British businessman, 60, arrested for ‘molesting’ woman, 35, on flight

A BRITISH businessman has been taken into police custody in India after attempting to grope a fellow passenger on a plane, officials said.
Barry Antony, 60, is alleged to have forced himself on the 35-year-old businesswoman sitting next to him on a flight bound for Hyderabad in central India.
Officers said the technical supplies salesman was “heavily drunk” when he got on the flight.
According to the , the 60-year-old was confronted by the unnamed woman on board the MI745 SilkAir flight from Singapore when he tried to grope her.
Antony’s alleged victim was travelling to Hyderabad to attend a conference at a prestigious business school.
After they were made aware of the incident, flight attendants radioed ahead to inform officials at Rajiv Ghandhi International Airport, where Antony was arrested upon disembarking the plane.
Airline staff are believed to have given statements and provided CCTV footage to police investigating the case.

Speaking on the incident, police Sub Inspector V. Srinivas said: “Antony was heavily drunk when he boarded the flight and he tried to molest the woman while on board."
He continued: “We have registered a case of using criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman.
“Antony was produced in court and remanded.”
Antony is reportedly a regular visitor to Welding Alloys Tubular Wiring Private Limited in Nacharam, a suburb of Hyderabad, where he promotes his company’s products and oversees training of its employees.
