SEA TREMBLER

Car romp couple caught out by drone after being stranded on beach as steamy windows stop them noticing incoming tide

The horny pair were forced to drive to a corner by the sea wall not quite reached by the tide, and stay there for hours until the council towed them to safety

A RANDY couple romping in their car on a beach were trapped by the incoming tide.

The pair, in their 20s, did not notice the water rising as the motor’s windows steamed up.

When they realised at 2am the slipway was cut off they drove to a corner by the 4ft sea wall where the tide did not quite reach.

Council workers arrived at 7am to tow their black Vauxhall Astra to safety as a watching crowd grew.

But the lovers decided to wait for five more hours until the slipway was clear of water to drive away.

It is believed the couple had headed to the beach in Cleethorpes, Lincs, after a night out on the town.

Dad-of-two Nick Cowdroy, 53, spotted them while flying a drone at the beach on Sunday morning.

He said: “A couple of council blokes were trying to work out what to do for the best.

“They said the couple had driven down on to the beach at 2am and were getting up to you-know-what.

“The windows had steamed up and before they knew it they were surrounded by the North Sea.”

The Coastguard reminded people they should always ring 999 in case of emergency - rather than waiting five hours for the council to turn up

The joiner, of Cleethorpes, said: “Loads of people turned up. It was hilarious but acutely embarrassing. Next time the couple should think about bringing a bucket and spade.”

A Coastguard spokeswoman said yesterday: “We would always urge people to call 999 if they find themselves in trouble.”
