Airport authorities remove 75 passengers and crew members from flight as gadget overheats
Passengers and crew were evacuated from a plane today after a Samsung gadget overheated and caught fire.
A total of 75 passengers and crew were led off Southwest Airlines flight 944 this morning as it was preparing to fly from Louisville to Baltimore.
Airport authority spokeswoman Natalie Chaudoin said no-one was injured.
Fletcher says there was minor damage to the plane's carpet where the device was dropped.
Last month, U.S. safety regulators announced a formal recall of Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 smartphone after a spate of fires led to injuries and property damage.

In a statement, Samsung then said: "Until we are able to retrieve the device, we cannot confirm that this incident involves the new Note7. We are working with the authorities and Southwest now to recover the device and confirm the cause. Once we have examined the device we will have more information to share."
