Jeremy Corbyn faces backlash after choosing to go on holiday and buy knitwear while Tories unveiled Brexit plans
The mum-of-four saw her figure change while Down Under
AFTER much speculation about why Jeremy Corbyn hasn’t been doing the job of an Opposition leader during the Tory Party conference and criticising policies – all can be revealed.
The Labour leader is alive and well but has been spending the past few days buying jumpers.
Well, a woollen wrap to be precise.
He has been on a break with his wife to walk Hadrian’s Wall and they stopped off at a shop in Northumberland to buy her some knitwear.
The pair posed for photos in Bardon Mill Village Store and Tea Room with her new upcycled garment which was made by The Woolly Pedlar.
On the same day, the Conservative Party conference had kicked off in Birmingham, with Prime Minister Theresa May taking the unusual step for a Tory leader of addressing the annual conference on its opening day.
On her blog Sue Reed, aka the , wrote: “I don’t know what your political persuasion is, and I do try to keep politics out of my work, but I am a huge fan of Jeremy Corbyn.
“I strongly believe in anti-austerity and equality, and believe that he is the best thing to have happened to British politics in a very long time.
“I was over the moon to hear that Jeremy liked my work enough to buy his wife something.
“I am as pleased as punch that my upcycled woolly wares will be going back down to London with Jeremy and Laura. I hope they enjoyed their walk, and I hope my wrap kept Laura warm.”
During their visit to the shop they also reportedly enjoyed an afternoon tea outside in the October sunshine.
But his lack of comment about policies announced at the Conservative Party conference has infuriated some Twitter users – with other Labour MPs forced to fill the void.
The former Labour leader Ed Miliband had his say
And was backed up by Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy
She also hit out at the PM using something Mrs May had said back in 2008
And she was also not too happy with the way the Labour press office was dealing with the immigration issue
And earlier today the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan got involved by tweeting that a Tory policy “sends a deeply worrying message”.
Tweets from Jeremy Corbyn during the first three days of the Conservative Party conference surprised people.
Labour is not trusted because of 'weak leader' Jeremy Corbyn
TWO thirds of voters don't trust the Labour party, a staggering new poll has revealed.
Researchers found people blamed weak leadership, extravagant spending plans and being too soft on immigration for their lack of faith, Lynn Davidson reports.
Less than a quarter of those polled said they did trust the party compared to 66 per cent who said they did not.
The YouGov poll showed almost half put their distrust down to the party having a "weak leader".
But wasting money, too much borrowing and a relaxed policy on immigration were the other reasons.
And almost a third of voters said the Labour party "wouldn't keep Britain safe".
YouGov pollster Laurence Janta-Lipinski said the evidence showed “Labour must engage with the public as they are."
