KANYE West emerged his New York apartment Tuesday as he vowed to track down the men behind the gunpoint robbery of his wife Kim Kardashian.

The rapper is said to be humiliated after Kim was tied up and robbed of £9m of jewels in a luxury Paris pad while he was performing at a gig in the Big Apple.

He cut a solemn figure Tuesday as he stepped out surrounded by bodyguards, a hood concealing the top half of his face.

Meanwhile a bouquet of white roses was delivered to the apartment, where Kim arrived Tuesday after jetting in from Paris.

The flowers are believed to be from Kim's pal La La Anthony, a TV presenter and the wife of basketball star Carmelo Anthony.

Sources close to Kanye say he is haunted by how close he came to losing his other half in the brutal attack.

One told : "He's usually in control. And now he realises that he could have lost her, and there wasn't a thing he could do about it."

West is adamant he will track down the men behind yesterday morning's robbery - but for now his focus is on Kim, the source added.

The reality TV star was yesterday said to be "severely shaken but unharmed".

And details emerged today that she is regularly breaking down into tears at the horror of what might have been.

Kardashian was bundled into a bath after being tied up and having a gun pointed at her temple as her £3.5m engagement ring was stolen.

Terrified Kim "feared she was about to be raped" as robbers bound her arms and legs while she begged: “Please don’t kill me, I have children.”

After being left tied up and left in the bath, the mum of two was able to make a desperate escape from her ties and yell to neighbours.

Husband Kanye stormed off stage immediately after hearing of the news in the middle of a New York gig.

He was pictured welcoming his wife back to the Big Apple yesterday as she flew from Paris in a private jet.

The couple were keeping a low profile at their Tribeca apartment today as they get over the traumatising incident.

Thankfully, the couple's two kids Saint and North remained in the US away from the incident.

The sources added: "Kanye's really spooked by the whole thing, because he knows that they are targets now."

Earlier today Kardashian's hulking 19-stone bodyguard Pascal Duvier vowed to hunt down the robber, declaring: "We will find you."

The German judo player wrote in an online blog: "The events that occurred in Paris was one of the most sickening things I have seen or heard.

"We have tips and leads and we will find you.

"That I promise you - you messed with the wrong one."
