Woman kidnapped and gang raped before being forced ‘to cook and eat human flesh’ by sick abductors
A WOMAN was allegedly kidnapped and gang raped before being forced to cook and eat human flesh by her sick abductors.
The Congolese woman was kidnapped twice by militants and repeatedly raped, the UN Security Council heard.
The survivor told women's rights group Female Solidarity for Integrated Peace and Development about the horrific ordeal.
She told how she was asked by her cruel abductors - armed group CODECO - to cook and eat the flesh of a man killed by the militia.
Julienne Lusenge, president of the women's rights group, said the woman had tried to pay a ransom for a kidnapped family member - but she was then kidnapped herself.
The horror incident was heard at a Security Council meeting on Congo following a recent flare-up of heavy fighting between the government and rebel groups.

Recounting the woman's story, Lusenge said: "They brought me two water containers to prepare the rest of the meal.
"They then fed all of the prisoners human flesh."
She was released after a few days - but she was kidnapped again as she tried to get home by another rebel group who also repeatedly raped her, reports.
"Again I was asked to cook and eat human flesh," the woman told Lusenge.
Bintou Keita, special representative of the secretary-general in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, said the security situation in the country has deteriorated.
CODECO is one of several armed groups which have been fighting for years over land and resources in the country's mineral-rich east.
The conflict has killed thousands and displaced millions over the past decade.
Attacks are also being carried out by the Allied Democratic Forces and other armed groups in Ituri and North Kivu Provinces.

Between May 28 and June 17, 150 civilians were killed, according to Keita.
Keita asked the Security Council to help bring peace to the country.
