Simon Danczuk told he will not be charged with rape following claims he attacked woman in 2006
Colourful Politician tells of delight at decision and demands Labour Party reinstate him
DISGRACED MP Simon Danczuk has been told he will not be charged with rape following claims he attacked a woman in 2006.
The MP strongly denied the accusations saying: "These claims are malicious, untrue and extremely upsetting."
And today, after a nine-month wait, the CPS confirmed it was taking no further action against him.
The colourful MP told of his delight at the decision, saying: "I am grateful and relieved the investigation has now come to an end.
"Even though I maintained my innocence throughout, this has been an immensely stressful period for me and my family.
"I thank them for their continuing support.

"I would also like to thank my solicitor, constituents who have been very understanding and to local Labour Party members who have supported me throughout.
"I now expect the Labour Party to conclude their investigation into these matters and lift my suspension as soon as possible."
The claims came to light in January and were among a string of scandals threatening to end the maverick Labour MP's political career.
Danczuk, a campaigner against child abuse, was suspended by the Labour party after The Sun exposed his sordid text messages to Sophena Houlihan, 17.
He also admitted to romping with a woman, 22, on his constituency office desk earlier this year.
Danczuk later admitted to The Sun that he needs sex addiction counselling.
