Kaitlin Armstrong updates — Fugitive arrested at Santa Teresa Beach, Costa Rica wearing men’s t-shirt & cut-off shorts
FUGITIVE Kaitlin Armstrong has been arrested with trimmed and dyed hair after being on the run for over a month for the alleged killing of Anna Moriah Wilson.
Armstrong, 34, was caught at a hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica on Wednesday.
The fugitive, according to authorities, boarded a plane at 5.09pm on May 18 from Newark International Airport in New Jersey and touched down in San Jose, Costa Rica, at 8.27pm.
“The Marshals Service elevated the Kaitlin Armstrong investigation to major case status early in this investigation, which likely played a key role in her capture after a 43-day run,” said US Marshal for the Western District of Texas Susan Pamerleau.
She is accused of killing her love rival and pro athlete Moriah Wilson, 25, who was found dead on May 11 in Austin, .
Armstrong will now be deported back to the where she will face charges related to the cyclist's death.
Her long-term partner, Colin Strickland, denies any involvement with Wilson's death, and police have not pressed any charges against him.

Dead batteries and lies
Moriah Wilson told a friend she planned to go swimming with her lover Strickland, according to reports.
Prior to competing in a race in the region, the celebrity of gravel racing was lodging in an apartment in Austin.
Prior to visiting Wilson, Strickland allegedly told his current girlfriend a number of falsehoods.
According to police, Strickland informed Armstrong that although his phone's battery had expired and he would be unable to reach her, he was heading out to bring flowers.
However, according to authorities, he was really swimming with Moriah in the Deep Eddy Pool, which is what they suspect inspired Armstrong to exact murderous retribution.

In a tweet with images of Kaitlin at the airport, US Marshals shared a description of what she was wearing at the time.
They wrote: "Armstrong was last seen on surveillance video wearing a blue denim jacket, black shirt with a pink design on the chest, white jeans, black and white tennis shoes, a black COVID mask, and a possible yoga mat carrier on her shoulders."
Kaitlin was last seen in La Guardia before arrest
Kaitlin Armstrong is seen leaving a Texas airport in footage after reportedly killing a cyclist in a jealous fury.
When the video was made public, authorities said they thought she had killed cyclist Moriah Wilson, 25, and fled from Texas to New York City.
However, US Marshals reported on June 30 that Armstrong had been taken into custody at a hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in the Costa Rican province of Puntarenas.
Her arrest follows US Marshals pictures of Armstrong on May 25, two weeks after Wilson was discovered dead on an Austin, Texas, restroom floor.
Moriah's family's statement
According to Moriah's relatives, she was not involved in a romantic relationship when she passed away.
The accusations concerning the supposed romantic relationship were explained by the family to .
“While we will not elaborate about the ongoing investigation, we do feel it's important to clarify that at the time of her death, those closest to her clearly understood, directly from Moriah, that she was not in a romantic relationship with anyone,” said the family in a written statement.
“We are absolutely devastated by the loss of our beautiful daughter and sister, Anna Moriah Wilson. There are no words that can express the pain and suffering we are experiencing due to this senseless, tragic loss.
“Moriah was a talented, kind, and caring young woman. Her life was taken from her before she had the opportunity to achieve everything she dreamed of. Our family, and all those who loved her, will forever miss her.”
Kaitlin Armstrong compared to Brian Laundrie
Private investigator Jason Jensen has compared the case to the hunt for , who went on the run after murdering his girlfriend during a 2021 cross-country road trip before being found dead several weeks later.
He told The US Sun:
“They’ve basically created this Brian Laundrie scenario for themselves; they could’ve put a couple of officers on her to watch her closely but they haven’t and now they got to invest all these resources, manpower, and other assets trying to track her down all the way across the country – just like they did with Laundrie.”
Kaitlin was brought in earlier for questioning
Kaitlin Armstrong was brought in for questioning by police on May 12, 2022, but was released on a technicality.
She was last seen on May 14 leaving LaGuardia Airport in – three days before a warrant was issued for her arrest.

He continued: “She returned to her home in California and about a month later, Kaitlin Armstrong and I reconciled and resumed our relationship.”
Colin added that he often saw Moriah at cycling events and maintained a “platonic and professional” relationship.
“Moriah and I were both leaders in this lonely, niche sport of Cycling, and I admired her greatly and considered her a close friend.”
Colin’s statement about the crime
Colin spoke of “the regret and torture” he felt “about [his] proximity to this horrible crime,” in a released to local media.
“I am sorry, and I simply cannot make sense of this unfathomable tragedy,” he continued.
“As a point of clarification to facts previously reported, Moriah Wilson and I had a brief romantic relationship from late October-early November 2021 that spanned a week or so while Wilson was visiting Austin.
“At the time, she and I had both recently ended relationships.”
