POLICE searching for a missing RAF serviceman have seized a bin lorry to check if it contains his mobile phone.
Corrie McKeague, 23, was last seen on CCTV nine days ago after a night out.
Data showed his mobile had moved a distance of 12 miles. Police do not believe the RAF gunner was in the lorry but said his phone may have been lost or discarded in it.
They are now searching along the vehicle’s route between Bury St Edmunds and Barton Mills in Suffolk.
The phone did not move after Barton Mills and has not been used since, police said.

The timings of the movement coincide with the bin lorry’s and officers are examining it.
Police said the load was less than 33lb (15kg) — which ruled out Mr McKeague, of Dunfermline, Fife, being on board. Searches by RAF personnel, Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue and the National Police Air Service helicopter are continuing.
Cops are also checking the RAF Honington base in Bury St Edmunds where he is based.
Inquiries in the town provided no new information.
