A SHOOTING victim staggered into A&E after being blasted in the chest with a shotgun.
The 26-year-old, who is in a life threatening condition, was driven to hospital by a family member following this morning's shooting.
Cops say they are treating the horrific incident in Salford, Greater Manchester, as an targeted attack.
A spokesman said it is too early to confirm if the incident is gang related or not.
The victim received treatment for gunshot wounds. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Benjamin Hart said an investigation has been launched and the incident is being treated as an attempted murder.
He added: “This man is fortunate to have only suffered the injuries that he did; the wounds had the potential to be far worse and could well have been fatal.
“At this time, we believe this was a targeted shooting which was isolated and deliberate."

He continued“I want to reassure the Salford community that there will be a full and comprehensive investigation, which will target those who see fit to use firearms against others.
“At this time, there is a team of local detectives working on this to find out what led to the shooting, who committed the crime, and where the firearm is now located.”
GMP said staff at the hospital reported to police that a man had been shot at about 1am on Monday October 3.
Police are appealing to the public for information in relation to the attack.
