THIS looks like the ultimate Big Fat Gypsy Wedding - with the bride donning a £175,000 dress for a lavish four-day-long celebration.
Video footage of young Romani gypsy couple Evka and Lukas's nuptials in Slovakia has gone viral across eastern Europe and Russia.
In-keeping with tradition, the 19-year-old bride was showered with gold by family and friends.
Guests at the plush ceremony also pinned wads of 500 euro (£434) notes to her dress on the dancefloor of the wedding venue.
Evka’s hands were adorned with chunky gold finger rings for her big day.
And her white dress with golden embroidery reportedly cost a whopping £175,000.
That’s almost as much as the frock worn by the daughter of Russian oil tycoon Musa Bazhaev, who picked hers up for £240,000 ahead of her wedding in Monte Carlo last week.
A guest at Evka and Lukas' wedding said: "The wedding celebration lasted for four days and cost a modest 35,000 euros (£30,375)."
A report on the event also pointed out the "very sweet moment" when the happy couple "seemingly alone except for the camera, count the wads of money in a very business-like manner".
Musicians and waiters were apparently paid hundreds of euros in tips each.
Slovakia's census in 2011 showed there were 105,738 Romani people in the country – making up two per cent of the population.
Living mostly in eastern parts of the country, they are the second-largest ethnic minority in Slovakia after Hungarians.
But it is not just weddings that the traveller community likes to do bigger and better than anyone else.
