Man killed in assault after a row broke out at village pub as suspect arrested for murder

A MURDER suspect was arrested after a man was fatally injured following a row at a village pub.

The unnamed victim was found half a mile from the Railway Tavern in Charfield, Gloucestershire, yesterday evening.

Emergency services were urgently called to the scene just before 11pm last night, but the man's life could not be saved.

The man died of his injuries at an address in Thames Close.

His identity has yet to be formally confirmed, but his family have been informed and are being supported.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Avon and Somerset Police warned residents of the rural village to expect an increased polic presence while officers carry out house to house enquiries.

But they assured locals that they do not believe there is a risk to the wider community, in a .

The tragic death comes after a man was stabbed to death outside a Wetherspoons pub in London.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Hounslow town centre, west London at 12.30am this morning.

But despite the efforts of emergency services, the 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s family have been informed and police are now urging anyone who may have seen the incident unfold to get in contact.
