Woman, 82, pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted in broad daylight

Police described the sex attack which took place in Bletchley, Buckinghamhire as "horrendous"

AN 82-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in daylight in Buckinghamshire in a sex attack described by police as "horrendous".

Police say the pensioner was assaulted as she walked on a pathway near Buckingham Road, Bletchley, at about 1pm on Friday.

She was then pushed from behind causing her to fall to the floor - and was then sexually assaulted.

Following the offence the sex attacker walked off in the direction of Bletchley.

The suspect is described as a white man of large build and in his early to mid-20s.

He was wearing a black beanie hat, black jacket and black trousers. He was carrying a black rucksack over both shoulders.

Police have appealed for witnesses.

Samantha Arnold from Thames Valley Police said: "I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual on the redway running alongside to Buckingham Road, behind Windmill Hill Drive on Friday afternoon.

"I would particularly like to speak to a man who was walking a dog, believed to be a white dog, possibly a Husky, along the redway prior to the offence.

"I would also like to speak to a man, about 60-years-old, seen picking blackcurrants near to the scene.

"If you know the dog walker or fruit picker, or have any other information about the offence please come forward by calling 101.

"The victim is being supported by Thames Valley Police following this horrendous incident."
