Fury as secondary school BANS pupils from hugging to ‘ensure everyone feels safe’
A SECONDARY school has sparked fury by banning pupils from hugging — to “ensure everyone feels safe”.
Students have been told that any physical contact is now strictly forbidden.
The woke new rule — which rules out cuddling and play fighting — was announced in a newsletter by Mossley Hollins High in Tameside, Gtr Manchester.
Staff said it would “further improve our school culture”.
But parents and critics hit out on social media, claiming the move will turn kids into “robots”.
Katie Teasdale said: “Physical contact is such a big part of peer relationships, like hugs when upset or celebrating.”

Matthew Nicholls added: “It’s like these people aren’t human and don’t understand social interaction.”
While Bill Williams said: “So all pupils should be non-binary genderless robots with zero human touch. This is extremely freakish controlling behaviour.”
The 854-pupil school — rated outstanding in its last Ofsted inspection — was asked for comment.
