Flames erupt from tower block as sixty residents flee for their lives from horrifying fire

A MASSIVE inferno has erupted at a tower block forcing dozens of residents to flee for their lives.

Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters were called to a flat fire at 2.47pm in east London.

Chilling footage online shows the thirteenth floor of a fifteen storey block of flats ablaze on Grantham Road in Manor Park.

Around 60 people left the building before the Brigade arrived.

It is unclear at this stage if anyone has been hurt in the blaze.

It is understood around half of the flat is alight.

Fire crews from Ilford, Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations are at the scene, the LFB confirmed.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

The Sun Online has contacted the London Fire Brigade for comment.
