Man charged after trying to kidnap teenage girl from Essex street in broad daylight in terrifying attack

A MAN has been charged for sexual assault after trying to kidnap a teenage girl in the street.

Luis Palma, 29, allegedly attempted to take the victim away in broad daylight but she managed to free herself.

He has also been charged with kidnapping and possession of cannabis after Wednesday's incident in Harlow, Essex.

Palma will appear at Colchester magistrates' court tomorrow.

The girl was unharmed and safe after the incident. She and her family are being supported.

Temporary Chief Inspector Terry Fisher said cases like this are extremely rare and is thought to be an isolated incident.

High visibility patrols had been taking place in the area since the incident.

Palma was arrested on Friday morning.
