MANY Americans across the country have demanded Congress pass more gun control legislation after losing countless lives to mass shootings.

What is the March for Our Lives rally?

March for Our Lives is known as a popular student-led movement that is fighting for gun control legislation.

Their first demonstration occurred in Washington DC on March 24, 2018, following the deadly school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

"In the days after the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, we knew we had to make sure that what happened to our community never happens again," the organization's website .

"We cannot allow one more person to be killed by senseless gun violence."

The website continued: "We cannot allow one more person to experience the pain of losing a loved one.

"We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or a text that never comes.

"We cannot allow the normalization of gun violence to continue. We must create a safe and compassionate nation for all of us."

On June 11, 2022, the movement held another rally in multiple cities following the deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that took the lives of 19 students and two teachers just weeks prior.

What has Joe Biden said about March for Our Lives?

On June 11, 2022, thousands of people gathered across the country and demanded gun reform.

Among their supporters was President Joe Biden.

"Today, young people around the country once again march with @AMarch4OurLives to call on Congress to pass commonsense gun safety legislation supported by the majority of Americans and gun owners," .

"I join them by repeating my call to Congress: do something."

In a , Biden explained what he believes Congress should do.
