Policeman, 48, ‘raped mum while her kids were asleep in same house’ day after they met on dating app
A POLICEMAN raped a mum while her kids were asleep in the same house a day after they met on a dating app, a court heard.
David Longden-Thurgood, 48, allegedly refused to take no for an answer and said: "It feels too good, I can't stop now."
And he messaged her afterwards: "It's very difficult to accept the invite into your house to spoon after all that talk and not have sex."
His victim, a business owner in her 30s, felt some trust towards him after matching on Bumble because he was a policeman, prosecutors said.
She consented to some kissing when she invited him round in October 2020 but repeatedly said "I don't want sex", it is alleged.
Hampshire Constabulary's Longden-Thurgood, who has served for 19 years, also sent lewd selfies and spoke about having sex in uniform before they met, telling her: "I'm a bit of a rebel off-duty."

Prosecutor Rebecca Fairbairn told Winchester crown court: "He thought 'you invited me into your house, you invited me into your bed', he suggested to her that because even though she said no that didn't matter.
"You can be sure that when he believes the victim was consenting, it was not reasonable.
"Even when she said no, he was not prepared to take no for an answer."

The officer was then warned “no funny business” as they went upstairs to watch TV and he stripped to his boxers when she went to the bathroom.
She told him she did not want to have sex when she returned to the bedroom, and he replied: “Don’t worry, we won’t have sex.”
But he then allegedly raped her and, after she said again she did not want sex, replied: "Well it feels too good, I can't stop now."
She said it hurt, that he pulled her back and was left feeling numb, adding she was worried about waking her kids.
The next day he accused her of blowing it out of proportion, telling her in messages that she made him "feel like shit".

He suggested they "move on" and go for a drink. She hit back: "How do you just move on from having unconsensual sex with someone?"
