Mum, 18, denies ‘murdering baby when she was 15’ as she appears in court
A TEENAGER has denied murdering her newborn baby boy when she was aged just 15.
Paris Mayo, 18, was charged with murder more than three years after Stanley Mayo was found was dead at a home in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
The college student today pleaded not guilty to a single count of murder at Worcester Crown Court. She will face trial next year in front of a High Court judge.
Mayo is alleged to have murdered the tot in March 2019, who cops found after being called to a concern for welfare.
Mayo, wearing a black polo neck jumper and sporting a nose piercing, spoke only to confirm her name and enter her not guilty plea.
She held her head bowed for much of the 45-minute hearing.

Mrs Justice Tipples released her on bail ahead of a trial to be fixed for next year.
West Mercia Police arrested Mayo, of Ross-on-Wye, at her family home but only charged her this year.
Officers in 2019 issued a statement revealing they had found the body of a baby.
They said at the time: “Police were called at around 8.40am Sunday 24 March to reports of a concern for welfare for a newborn baby at a property in Ross-on-Wye.
“On attendance, the body of a baby was discovered. The baby’s next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
“The death is being treated as suspicious and investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
“A 15-year-old girl from Ross-on-Wye has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on police bail while investigations are ongoing.”
Mayo was released on bail.
