Cops warn children to stay in groups after teenage girl abducted and raped ‘by serial attackers’
Incident in Oxford comes days after a woman aged 19 was sexually assaulted close by
TWO men who abducted a teenage girl as she walked to school then raped her over three hours could be serial attackers.
The incident in Oxford came days after a woman aged 19 was sexually assaulted two miles away.
Cops have urged children not to walk to school alone as they hunt the two monsters.
The youngster was snatched off a busy street at around 8.30am before being attacked in a silver VW hatchback and nearby woodland.
She was dumped in woods just a mile from where she was taken after her 3½-hour ordeal.
Police were only alerted after the “extremely traumatised” teenager, who had been wearing school uniform, was found knocking on doors pleading for help.
The girl was abducted on Wednesday in Summertown, an upmarket suburb of Oxford.
On Sunday a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by two men two miles away on a Headington footpath.
Both incidents involved white men, with the culprits in the first attack said to be in their late teens or early 20s and well-built.
There was also an attempted abduction of a another young girl 15 miles away in Abingdon on March 3.
She kicked the man and ran away.
Detectives said there was nothing to link the attacks but did not rule out a connection.
Det Chf Supt Chris Ward said of Wednesday’s incident: “I’m not sure she was dragged into the vehicle.
“It may be she was approached and possibly hugged.
“I would ask anyone who saw a silver VW in that area to come forward.
“She is extremely upset.”
The cop added that it was “important not to go into too much detail” why the girl’s school had not alerted anyone when she failed to arrive.
Police patrolled the streets yesterday and asked drivers to check their dashcams for any footage of the abduction.
Supt Christian Bunt said: “I’d ask parents to consider the safety of their children.
“If they are walking to school make sure they try to keep in groups.”
Parent Richard Knight saw an ambulance arrive to pick the girl up.
He said: “It’s shocking, I have three daughters in school.
“It’s horrible to hear this has happened.”
