Update in case of missing Harmony Montgomery, 7, with her stepmother arrested again for lying in court
THE stepmother of missing seven-year-old Harmony Montgomery has been arrested again.
Kayla Montgomery, 31, was detained by New Hampshire law enforcement for lying in court, the latest criminal charges since her stepdaughter disappeared in 2019 at the age of five.
The Manchester, New Hampshire resident was arrested on Friday and is now facing perjury charges for reportedly lying in front of a grand jury, according to .
She was taken into custody at the Manchester police department, local news station .
Montgomery’s arrest occurred “when she arrived for her daily check in,” WMUR Amy Coveno reported on Twitter.

"The arrest of Kayla Montgomery is another step in the investigation into the whereabouts of Harmony Montgomery,” Manchester Police Chief Aldenberg told WMUR.
“We will continue to do everything in our power to bring this case to a resolution."
The stepmom has been arrested on two other occasions since Harmony’s disappearance.
Most recently, in January Montgomery was indicted on felony charges for Welfare fraud.

Harmony disappeared sometime in late 2019, but her disappearance wasn’t reported for another two years in late 2021.
According to the allegations in the Welfare Fraud case, Montgomery continued to receive Harmony’s food assistance benefits after she went missing from their home.
Then in April, she was arrested on theft charges for an incident involving stolen firearms and Adam Montgomery, her husband and Harmon’s father.
“Karma is real," the girl’s mother Crystal Sorey said during an interview with WMUR following the latest arrest.
