One dead and five injured in shooting at ‘rowdy party attended by up to 100 people’
ONE person has been killed and at least five others injured after shots were fired at a large party attended by up to 100 people.
The Friday night party turned melee happened in Chester, Virginia, a couple of miles away from a local high school.
said officers were dispatched after reports of shots fired and "rowdy" juveniles in the area of Weybridge Road.
Lt. Dave Sumner told The US Sun that six people were shot in the incident, one fatally.
Two more young people suffered non-firearm-related injuries.
According to the report, cops arriving on the scene found one adult male with a gunshot wound and attempted to render emergency aid to him, but he subsequently died at the scene.
His age and identity have not yet been released.

Police said five other shooting victims had been transported to area hospitals or other locations with non-life-threatening wounds.
Their identities have also not yet been revealed.
One victim was discovered by police in the parking lot of 's west campus, about two miles from the scene, while another was located in a shopping center about a mile away, according to .
According to a Facebook post, the party was for a student of Thomas Dale High School and the mother of the student was at home at the time, the adds.

According to a dispatcher report, neighbors said cars were swerving around the area, partygoers standing atop cars and wandering into neighboring driveways.
Dawn Harwan of Chester told the Progress-Index that she saw numerous police vehicles racing to the scene as she was pulling out of a car wash just before 10pm local time.

Police have not established a motive for the shootings and continue to investigate.
