Young Thug DENIED bond over fears rapper may be a ‘danger to the community’ after arrest on ‘narcotics & gang charges’

RAPPER Young Thug has been denied bond by a judge, who cited a “significant concern” that he will be a danger to the community or could obstruct justice.

However, the judge said he would be open to reconsidering future motions regarding bonds.

Young Thug, real name Jeffery Lamar Williams was arrested last month and charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of participating in criminal street gang activity.

Authorities accused him of renting a car that was used to carry out a 2015 drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of 26-year-old Donovan Thomas.

His trial is scheduled for January 9, 2023.

The rapper’s arrest is the result of a larger grand jury indictment that names 28 members and associates of his label YSL Records.

Each of the charges against Young Thug are felonies.

His defense attorney Brian Steel said in a statement: "I'll tell you the response to any allegation: Mr Williams committed no crime whatsoever and we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him."
