Frantic hunt for serviceman Corrie McKeague who vanished on night out few miles from base
The 23-year-old has now been missing for four days as the search to find him continues after he was last seen in Bury St Edmonds on Saturday night
FEARS for the safety of a young RAF serviceman are growing as he has now been missing for four days.
Corrie McKeague became separated from friends on a night out in the Suffolk town of Bury St Edmonds on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old was reported missing on Monday when he did not arrive for work on the base at RAF Honington.
It is thought that he may have tried to walk the eight miles home, after being seen on CCTV asleep in a doorway in Brentgovel Street in the town centre at 3.23am on Saturday morning.
He was seen getting up and walking off, but did not return to Honington - the headquarters of the RAF Force Protection who guard UK military installations around the world.
Police have appealed to drivers and people living along the route between Bury St Edmonds and Honington and a search has been carried out by a police helicopter.
