FOOTAGE of a teen boy being stabbed to death has been shared on Snapchat, police revealed.

Cops are trying to find a copy of the clip of the victim, 15, which they say is vital to their investigation.

The boy died after being knifed near a canal bridge in Pendeford, Wolverhampton on Friday.

Officers arrested a boy, 16, on suspicion of murder and a woman, 46, on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The boy is still in custody after West Midlands Police was granted further time to question him.

The woman has been released pending further enquiries.

Further searches at the scene are being carried out today, including a specialist underwater search.

Paramedics treated the child, who was with a group of people, on scene but he died of his injuries.

A police spokesman said: "We need to identify everyone who was there so that we can speak to them about what happened.
 
"We also believe that a video showing some of the incident was posted on Snapchat.

"The video is vital to our investigation and we’re appealing for anyone with a copy of it to send it in, or let us know which accounts it was shared by.

"Our thoughts remain with the boy’s family and friends whose lives have been forever changed."

West Midlands Police said on Friday: "We’ve arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder after a 15-year-old died in Wolverhampton today.
 
"The ambulance service called us just before 4.15pm to say that they were treating an injured child near to a canal bridge on Reapers Walk, Pendeford.

"Sadly, the boy passed away. His family have been told this devastating news.  

"We’re working hard to understand exactly what happened but at this time we believe the boy was stabbed. 
 
"Our thoughts are with the boy’s family and friends whose lives have been forever changed.

 "A cordon has been placed around the scene and we’re speaking to witnesses and fast-tracking a review of CCTV in the area.
 
"A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The boy and the woman are both from Wolverhampton and were arrested shortly before 7pm."
