A HOSPITAL floor was so filthy a horrified young mum wrote ‘clean me now’ on it.
Shelby Peel, 18, used a baby wipe to scrawl the message in the children’s waiting room of Tameside Hospital in Manchester on Sunday evening.
She made her feelings clear after bending down to clean up vomit from her two-year-old son Finley.
She said: “Everyone in that children’s room thought it was absolutely disgusting. They all stood up and started taking pictures of what I had written on the floor.
“It’s a children’s waiting room so there are kids in there who put their hands on the floor and then in their mouths.
“All the parents were picking up their kids and wiping them clean.”
Tameside Hospital has vowed to review its cleaning schedule for the waiting room but Ms Peel said she is not convinced.
The full-time mother, from Stalybridge, Gtr Manchester said: “There was a young lad in there who asked how often they cleaned.

“They said they did it every day but looking at the state of that floor I don’t believe it.”
Ms Peel said she and her son, who had been taken to hospital with suspected bronchitis, didn’t witness a single cleaner during their six and a half hours at the hospital.
She said: “It needs sorting out. A hospital of all places you expect to be spotless.”
Floor surfaces which have a high footfall, like waiting areas, can quickly become dirty, especially when the weather is wet, according to a spokesman for the hospital, who said it has a strict cleaning schedule.
He added: “We have asked our estates department to review the cleaning schedule for this area and to see what additional measures we can introduce during busy times and periods of inclement weather.
“We take great pride in the cleanliness of all wards and departments within the hospital.”
Tameside Hospital was given a ‘requires improvement’ rating during an inspection in April 2015.
