According to Meteorologist James Gregorio, powerful winds may reach 40-60mph on Friday evening, and hail up to one inch looks to be the primary threat for Jersey residents.

Folks should keep their umbrellas on hand for Saturday as leftover showers may return throughout the morning before clearing out as the day progresses.

The West Coast can also see a few scattered showers on Thursday and Friday, as about two inches of rain is expected to fall over the first third of the three-day-long weekend.

After a rather wet and cloudy start to the holiday weekend, Sunday looks to be dry as the storm shifts offshore.

Rain is also forecast for the Plains, Midwest and Ohio Valleys on Sunday.

"Thunderstorm development, with some potentially strong, will be possible along the front," according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Meanwhile, south-central US states can expect heavy downpours, severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes on and Tuesday.

's Peninsula will also have pop-up storms during their wet tropical season.

Meanwhile, millions across the East Coast will see summer-like weather on Sunday and Monday.

For Memorial Day, the weather around will be dry with sunshine and temperatures reaching the mid-80s.

New Yorkers will see temperatures reach the upper-80s on Monday.
